Fuel price protests: NLC, JAF meet today over next line of action



The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, faction led by Ayuba Wabba, will meet Sunday in Abuja, to review the ongoing nationwide strike and protests  over the increase in fuel price.
The faction of the NLC, alongside the Joint Action Front, JAF, had, since Wednesday, May 18, embarked on a nationwide strike and mass protests.
The meeting follows appeals by President of Senate, Bukola Saraki; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, and the National Leader of All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu, to them to call off the industrial action and negotiate with the Federal Government.
General Secretary of NLC, Dr. Peter Ozo-Eson, confirmed that the meeting would review the situation and determine the next line of action,
Similarly, JAF will meet in Lagos today to review the situation.
Abiodun Aremu, JAF Secretary, said the meeting would take place at 2 pm to plan how to re-strategise the protest and to force government to reverse the hike in the pump price of petrol and electricity tariff.

Account Freezing: Court summons EFCC, puts Fayose’s mandatory order in Abeyance

Efforts made by Governor Ayodele Fayose to reverse the restriction order placed on his accounts frozen by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) in Zenith Bank Plc was temporarily halted on Tuesday as the Federal High Court sitting in Ado Ekiti, deferredruling on the mandatory order being sought to reverse the directive. The EFCC had last week Tuesday allegedly frozen Fayose’s account numbers 1003126654 and 9013074033 in Zenith bank for alleged money laundering running into N1.2 billion being money allegedly taken from the $2.1 billion arms fund in the office of the former National Security Adviser, Col.
